Each student must register on their own for a SL account. Having the same IP address should not be a problem if they are using their own information, and email address. It is against the TOS for you to create an account and give it to someone else.

If the reason you want to create the accounts for your students is to control them more, you may want to take a look at the Registration API . Students are registered through your own website and are restricted to your location. No IM's or searching the 'outside' world. The drawback is you need your own private sim to do that. But if you have one, it may be the solution.
