If you have a dynamic IP address, unplug the power cable from your router and wait for a couple of minutes before plugging it back in, and letting it reconnect to the Internet.

If you do not have a dynamic IP address, you will need to contact support to get this restriction lifted, or you can appeal your ban from the service if you've received one.

Hello Peter, and welcome to Second Life and this Answers section.

Are you living on some kind of student campus by any chance?  Or living in a shared household where others may already have Second Life accounts?

Second Life is not always accessible everywhere. For example, a student campus may allow internet access, but restrictions are imposed.

If you happen to live in a shared household where other Second Life accounts share the IP address, you may have fallen foul of their ban in place.

If my response has made you want to add more to this thread, please click on "options" at the top right hand corner of your original post to "edit".

I don't think it's your viewer (unless you can log in successfully with other viewers).

The usual reason for this message is that your account has been hardware banned by Linden Lab for some sort of very serious Terms of Service violation.

This could be something you did, or perhaps you allowed someone else to access your account, either intentionally, or unintentionally.  You might have been "phished", giving your password to a bogus web site.

Read the information in the link below.
