Giant Newbies

In the last week or two I've encountered a few giant newbies, who are at least twice as tall as I am - making them 11 feet or more.  These are normal LL system type avatars, and they don't have the odd distortions that you see with some of the deformers.  I was wondering what the origin of these giant newbies is, since they seem bigger than you can make with the sliders and presumably must be readily available to new residents.

I seriously doubt a newbie is gonna have OR fork over 350L for a crappy giant newbie avatar when there are a good handful of decent peenies to be had at that price or less Plus a decent skin to attract some gullible female into bumping pixels with them.

Assuming the OP actually checked the avatars' rez dates, how about people fooling about with recently-created alts?

I can't think of any other way to do it.   Nothing's changed lately with the sliders to allow people to make outsize avatars, as far as I know, so a giant avatar made of sculpties or mesh seems the only explanation.

The simplest thing to do would be to ask the next one you see where they got their avatar.  If they won't say, ask another one.

ETA:  That said, when I look at the name of the originator of this thread, I think "Papa Tree," so armchair Freudians... make of that what you will.
