how do I install the lastest video card driver, seems either mine it out dated or has to be updated

We'll need to know more about your computer to help. Come back to your question and edit it via "Options" over there on the right. You mention "drivers", so I'll guess you're on a Windows computer. Tell us what graphics card you have (ATI, nVIDIA, Intel?) and what particular problem you are having. Do you get an error message? Does SLV refuse to launch?

Once we have more information, we can start making recommendations.

I assume that you have received the message that says your graphics drivers were installed incorrectly or need to be updated.  If that's the case, see http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Graphics-cards/ta-p/700073#Section_.1.5

Updating graphics drivers is a very easy, automated process, as you will find when you go to the manufacurer's site as directed.  The files are usually quite large, so they will take several minutes to download and another few to install.  Get get yourself a fresh cup of coffee and watch.  If you have any problems, read the rest of the page that I referred to above.
