When items disapear from your inventory, the best thing you can do is clear your cache and relog. Go to Preferences>Network&Cache>Cache Location>Clear Cache.

If it has been a long time since this has been done, it may take a long time before the game loads up. Don't fret if this happens, it will eventually load up.
