Inventory links are pointers to actual items in your inventory; they are not items in and of themselves. They are indicated by the name of the item being in italic text, with the word ”(link)” at the end.

If you delete an item that had links references it, the links remain but will be broken. If you attempt to rez or wear such items, you will get an error. If you have items in your Outfits folder that say (broken link), it's because you deleted the items, so the link in your Outfits folder doesn't work any more.

Be sure to never delete the original of an item that you have created links to.

The point is that any item that says (link) next to it is not a real item. It is like an entry in an index. When you see the label (broken link), it means that the index point is no longer connected to a real item somewhere else in your inventory. The link is meaningless now, so you can remove it.

I do not understand what you mean by saying, "Not in the original box, because that will make re-rez."
