I have two lots purchased at auction, if I stop being Premium User to User Common I lose this land?

Yes.  You may only own land on the Mainland if you have a Premium account.  If you decide to change to a Basic account, you must first sell or abandon any Mainland parcels that you own.  You may still rent land anywhere in SL as a Basic member, and you may buy land in Private estates.
