Credit card charged on payment failures

First, double check your dashboard at secondlife.com >>> Account to be sure that the L$ purchases weren't recorded. That's always the place to look for your current balance.  The value that shows in the upper right corner of your viewer screen in world does not necessarily update in real time, so it may be out of sync with the balance on your dashboard.  You can usually force an update by clicking on the L$ symbol (not the Buy L$ link) a few times, but I would still trust the dashboard if I were you.

If you have a non-technical issue related to billing concerns, you can make a polite call to the Linden Lab billing team at the following toll-free numbers at any time 24/7:

We can only guess, just like you.  We're all SL residents.  Lindens never come here or even read what's posted in Answers.  You can ask the Billing Office, but they probably don't have much more technical information than we do.  Their job is to help get your account balances correct.

My guess is that it's a transient glitch.  If it were anything major and system-wide, we would have heard from a lot of other people by now.
