The simplest answer is, "you can't". The full Second Life viewer will not run on a tablet or a Chromebook. Those devices are not powerful enough.
But there is a sort of solution. If you have an Android tablet or phone, look in the Play Store for an app called Lumiya. It is a sort of "lite" viewer that will let you access Second Life from your tablet.
If you use an Apple device, try Pocket Metaverse. It has no graphics, but at least you can IM and chat with your friends.
