You may need to update or regress the graphics driver to find the stability you are looking for. First things first...since you are returning to SL after an absence. OK Do the following: 0) Make sure that you have applied all Important and most Optional patches for the Windows 7 OS from Microsoft. 1) Identify the Video / Graphics system in your PC and get the most current drivers direct from the Video System manufacturer. .... http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx .... http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us .... http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect/graphics 2) Reinstall SL again using the official version from Linden Lab. Note: (PC Login Name) is the Windows 8 User Account Login Name If you can't see the files or folders described above: .... 1) Using File Explorer navigate to -> Libraries / Computer / ( C: ) / Users / .... 2) Press the Continue button to get permission to obtain permanent permission edit this directory. .... 3) From the View drop-down menu option select Options & Change Folder & Search Options .... 4) Select the View Tab .... 5) Under the Hidden Files and Folders options click on the - O Show hidden files, folders & Drives radio button .... 6) Push the Apply Button then the OK button. 3) Login using that Viewer and wait for a complete Login and Inventory rebuild. 4) Afterwards, you may use any viewer you prefer but I recommend a clean install of that viewer as well following their instructions. 0 Lindal Kidd Posted December 28, 2013 Share Posted December 28, 2013 Since you crash after some minutes of use, the problem could be heat-related, especially if you are running on high graphics settings (large draw distance, shadows and advanced lighting enabled.) 0 irenemk Posted December 28, 2013 Share Posted December 28, 2013 Hello, I am having problems with the "Second life viewer". i have downloaded the program and when I open it,it writes "Detecting software" then " Initialize VFS" and then it froze and crushes. I can not even make an account. My computer specifications are: Windows 7 Home premiun HPG62 Comuter ACPIx64-based PC CPU:Intel core (i3) cpu M330@ 2.13 GHz Dislay:ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5430 RAM:4Gb Please help me solve this problem.
