You might try reverting to an earlier version of the Catalyst drivers for your graphics card.  ATI/AMD cards do not work well in SL anyway, because they are optimized for DirectX and Second Life is in an OpenGL environment.  The most recent AMD drivers, however, have been more than usually problematic for many SL residents. You could also try opening your Preferences >>> Graphics and disabling Atmospheric Shaders, which could resolve some of your issues but at the cost of degrading overall image quality slightly.

ALL mesh bodies, or just the one you're wearing at the moment?  If the latter, you probably just need to wear the alpha layer for that particular mesh body...your classic avatar body is showing through in spots.

If everyone's mesh has the problem, it's likely your "most recent graphics drivers."  Try installing the earlier version 14.4 ATI graphics drivers instead.
