It sounds as if you already know the answer.  llGetLinkPrimitiveParams will yield a list, from which you just grab the parameters you requested.  In this case, you ask


list temp = llGetLinkPrimitiveParams(link_no,[PRIM_COLOR,face_no]);vector Color = llList2Vector(temp,0);if (Color == <1.0,1.0,1.0>){    llSay(0,"I'm RED!");}// And so forth

 The only trick, of course is that if your color is even slightly off of pure red, the test will fail.  So a darker red <0.9,0.9,0.9> will not work.  You just have to be careful.
