Outside private agencies

Seems like I am seeing alot of private outside agencies springing up in these rp towns. Happening with ambulance companies and now i notice even law enforecment agencies. Anyone know what is going on with the rash of them suddenly popping up? Or, have they always been there and not noticed?

It is not unusual for a group of people that formed a group and who RP together as police, firemen etc. to offer the services of their group to a RP sim.  The sim owner then doesn't have to recruit for these positions individually and has the advantage of having a group that is used to RPing together and therefore more effective.  Hierarchy in the group is already established to (such as who is Commissioner, Captain etc.) and chances are they have all the equipment they need too.

If you have a problem with a group like this, you should speak to the sim owner or whoever is in charge of the sim's overall RP.  If you want to RP with a group, approach the group owner and see if they are taking new recruits.

As far as these groups being more prevalent, they've always been around that I remember.  It could be there are more of them now as it seems to me that there are more community RP's around (this is not based on anything scientific) and it may be easier to find RP positions as a group rather than individually.

Regarding privatized ambulance services. This is already pretty prevelant in real life. So it adds a drop of realism.
