$L1 isn't much of a liability to worry about.  If you're being charged once a month, that's about a nickel a year  -- a small price to pay for your share of the group's listing in Search. And as Amethyst says, you can always leave the group if you want.

You are in a group that is listed in search and also shares its assets and liabilities among all users.  This is common with most social groups.  The charge is 30L$ and is spread among the group.  The more people that are in the group the less youwill be hit up for your share.  1L$ every few months is usually all you will see.
