Terraform Randomly Changes on Region

I have owned a number of sims in the 8 years that I have on been SL and never experienced anything like this. There are minor changes almost daily to the terraform. Mostly raised areas and ridges. The sim is closed to the public and it's not set to a group so that it's impossible for another avatar to be terraforming while I'm not on the sim. Has anyone heard of this and what might be causing it to happpen? This is a homestead/private island

not sure if it's the same, but something like that i had on my homestead too.

Seemed to me to be a kind of lag. The sim not responding, or at least he viewer did  not show all changes i made, but durig relog or being away it applied and showed a slightly different landscaping than while i left.

Thanks for the reply, Alwin. That's quite interesting but probably not the same since I haven't terraformed in many months and it's not a viewer issue. Maybe it's related to lag somehow.
