Others having problems with massive SL lag atm?

I am having a LOT of problems with SL at the moment. It reminds me of lag from the old days, but even worse. Are others experiencing this too? I want to check that it's not just me. I looked on the Grid Status thingy and no probs are logged there.

I thought it was just me having the issue.  I've been having the issue for the past couple of weeks, it takes everything forever to rezz in where I live even if I turn off fog, clouds, water, etc.  and when I'm building often I will move an object and it will move back to its prior position, which makes getting things done take double the time.

I am on a wired connection, have 32 gig of ram, I stay on mid graphics wise and only have advanced lighting on if I absolutely need to, so it shouldn't be as bad as it has been.  I wish I knew what on earth was happening though.  Other than switching to Windows 10 when it came out, nothing has changed for me in a long time.

I am experiencing lag, too, on an NVIDIA GTX 760.  I never had before even with the graphics settings maxed out.  Second Life is unusable for me right now.  But, I know we will be helped soon.  <3

Odd. If anything I would have said it was less laggy over the last weekend than earlier ones.

I tend to think that if you ask a question like this, there will always be a few takers, for reasons that might be similar or nothing to do with what's causing your problems. Still....

For about a week I've had textures loading really, really slowly. It can take a full minute for what would normally take a few seconds after TP'ing in. Even then, some don't ever seem to rez unless I TP around again. I get missing textures, and materials maps so end up with flat, boring wallpaper and grey trees etc.

I don't normally get this (I get texture thashing, as Whirly knows, but this is different) and my own system and internet connection are good. I was suspecting a problem somwhere in the internet pipes, or maybe even with the CDN server(s). Might or might not be something to do with LL's kit. (Yes, of course I've reset my router etc). I don't use any real-time antivirus (shock-horror). I prefer common sense, out-of-band scans, isolated virtual machines and a real firewall.

If it carries on much longer I'll see if I can track down what's happening with some traceroutes etc.

So... yeah.

Yes the lag has been horrible for quite some time. I have a feeling it has to do with several thing. First, servers are overloaded and can not handle all the people on the grid. Second I think LL is so concerned with the new grid and getting it up and running they have just slacked off on maintaining this grid. I have been here four years and have never expierenced lag and rezzing problems i have as of the past few months. And yes I have done every kind of check you can imagine, have a gaming computer and the fastest cable connection available in my area.

99.9 % of the lag is userside,,, start there before you write non founded things about SL...

just telling you have a fast cable means nothing if the quality of the connection sucks, even it has a speed to fire you to the moon and back, it won't work.
