Randall Ahren
Are there any places in SL that display protest art? Specifically, art that is intended to expose societal assumptions and prejudices by juxtaposing the sacred with the profane. I'm thinking of something like the work of Andres Serrano, who is famous for his photograph of a small plastic crucifix submerged in what the artist alleged to be his own urine. Also images of the US flag being desecrated fall within this category.
Ziggy21 Slade
Perhaps not quite what you are looking for, but in the right direction certainly is KimLenswomanPhotographer Writer, who has a Gallery in world, she has fabulous photos of loads of famous performers from the 60s onwards, including Pink Floyd and Bob Marley, I think I am correct in saying she has a few photos taken at the Campus Protests in the 60s. Her place is definitely worth a look anyway, I challenge anyone to not find something they will enjoy there. Don't check out her web site here http://www.lenswoman.com/index.php go and see the gallery in world.!
Randall Ahren
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check it out. Maybe I should start a gallery for protest art and award a prize or something for the best or most outstanding work.
Blot Brickworks
This started out as my protest against Bovine alien abduction. Then I thought WTF and turned it into a side lamp...................:matte-motes-big-grin-wink:
Randall Ahren
Interesting work. Is abduction of bovines by aliens a big problem? I'm thinking the bovine should be replaced with a statue of Ai Weiwei and the UFO with a map of China to create a piece relavant to an important current political issue.
