How do I join a group?

i assume you are using the standard viewer - v2 - and are confusing "basic account" with the basic mode.

last paragraph there shows how to switch to advanced mode.

and here's how to join groups in v2:



some groups are closed enrollment, though, so you may need an invite in order to join. and some costs lindens, so make sure you have enough lindens if that is the case.
