Sounds like you dropped out of "insert" mode in your computer's keyboard settings. Look for an "Insert" key on your keyboard, and press it one time, to revert to the behavior you are used to.

On most operating systems, including both Windows and Macintosh, that key toggles typing behavior between inserting characters at the cursor position, and overtyping what is to the right of the cursor.

It would be the way the NC's are designed unfortunately

What I've found is 'stretching' the NC I am writing helps.

And keeping in mind, when 'editing' what you've written in NC, where that 'cursed' curser is located.

Your Keyboard is fine. Its just the design of how the NC functions.

I will agree with Ceera. You should have the problem not only when you type in a notecard but everywhere you type like local or private chat and also in all applications (like for example MS Word). Just click once the "Insert" located usually at the right of "backspace" and for laptops above it (Ins). If accidentally you click it again, you will have the same problem.
