If you try to buy something in SL and there are not enough L$ in your account to cover the purchase, LL will debit your USD balance.  If the USD balance in your account is lower than the amount needed to cover a purchase of L$, LL's billing system will then debit your credit card (or whatever you indicated as your payment method of record).   Your USD balance will normally be zero unless you have been selling L$ that you earned in world from rental property or sale of goods and services, so the activity you are seeing in your RL creit card account is normal.  If you ever have questions about your account, call ......

You often get small charges like that for card validation checks and they usually get credited back to you as Lindens when you use the card to buy L$. It shouldn`t be happening more than once though, so if you are getting the validation charge for every purchase then I would definately make a free call to the billing number to find out why.
