I havent been able to log in for about a year it says check network or firewall but for what?

As well as what Rolig says, try to reset the modem and router. Unplug them for a minute or so, plug back in and let a connection establish. Then try to log in again.

I'm curious - How come it took you a year to try to fix it?

Oh, if you want to add information to the thread, you will have to select Optons in the top right corner of you OP and edit.
