V2 wont start since update to 2.7.1

Hello silvarana. I copy my answer i gave some mins ago in another user with the same problem:

...."The easy reply and maybe solution about your problem is to download again a previous edition of Viewer 2 and set your software updates NO to be installed automatically. (Preferences --> Setup --> Hardware). You can find the previous edition 2.6.9 at the following link: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Supported_Viewers

If you want older more versions you can find them here down at the page.

If the problem remains and you are a premium member you can use the Live Chat or to submit a ticket https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/ . If you are a basic member it is not suggested to submit a ticket although you can try it.

Start this way downloading a previous edition of Viewer 2 and keep in touch here leting us know if you fixed the problem or you need more help".

Same problem.  2.7.1 won't load.  Reverted back to 2.6.9 and all seems well.  Curiously I had my preferences set to auto download and yet it didn't.  I changed to manual for the future.

Edit: Not sure why so many users have the same exactly problem. I hope LL to read the topics (Forums are full with it) and fix it soon.

Here's the JIRA >> https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/STORM-1298 But, if you look at it, it says the problem was resolved for all but Linux users on 6/3...and I'm on Win7!
