Need assistance with linking XY Text prims

I can manage to get one prim to show my message :) (Credit to http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/XyText_1.5)

But when I try to add in a second prim to show the rest of my message, I get some wierd messages scrolling across the second prim that have nothing to do with the first

It's been a while since I've used XY Text ...... I assume that you are also using the XY Text Board Control script as well as the basic XY Text script.  It's on the same page in the wiki.  That script goes in the root prim of your linkset, and you link as many prims to it as you need for display your entire message.  So long as they are linked in order, with the root prim on the left end of the display, that control script should parse the message out evenly to each of the child prims.  Be sure that you have the correct face forward on each prim.

I have it set as you said, with the control script in the left prim as the root. Should it be in both?

No, just in the root.  That script sends the message with llMessageLinked to the child prims.  You do need an instance of the basic XY Text script in each prim, though.

Below is a screen shot of the script alignment and the two prims both have text that is unrelated to eachother still.
