Hello Rick. To cancel your account, Open your dashboard --> Account --> Cancel Account.

I advise you not to delete it because it is possible to regret about in the future. You can just stop to log in and let it there. If you delete your account and you want to reactivate it in the future you will have a charge of 9.95 US$. Have in your mind that even if your account is restored, the associated inventory, land, and Linden dollar balance may be unrecoverable.

If you cancel your account, eventually your name will disappear from search, but it will not ever completely disappear from SL. Your profile will always exist, though access to it is not easy, so you may wish to make a note on it for anyone that does come accross it....I`m sure you have seen profiles yourself with messages such as "no longer active in SL" on them.

If you stay on anyone`s friends list or in any groups, they will always be able to access your profile & anything that you have ever created that is "out there" in the world, either rezzed by you as the owner or owned by someone else, you can click the "profile" button on those too. Even from the properties of a notecard or snapshot or old calling card.

We all make a permanant mark on SL.
