Miyuki Seda
Hello,I’m hoping someone out there can give me recommendations for shape designers.I’m looking for a delicate, elegant-featured, willowy (gracefully tall and slender) Caucasian shape with gentle curves and modest, balanced proportions. For lack of a better visual reference, think Lord of the Rings elf-ish.I’ve visited so many shops that my head is starting to spin and my frustration to mount. It seems most everyone is catering to a specific look – bombshell with beestung lips and a sultry aesthetic – and that’s definitely not to my taste. I’ve been to Curio, Laqroki, DrLife, League, Amacci, Armidi, Tuli, Vassnia, Belleza, Shapes by Mim, Cupcakes, Glam Affair, and Lara, plus several others I can’t name off the top of my head. Either I’m glazing over and missing the thing I’m looking for, or it simply isn’t out there.Any ideas? Bonus points if you can also recommend a beautiful, radiant, healthy-looking porcelain/translucent (read: not vampire/goth) skin that will look amazing on said shape, maybe even having some tasteful, subtle makeup palettes to go with it.I have Lindens, so please suggest away without regard for budget.Thank you! pandora73 Constantine
What i would try first is look on the marketplace and use the search engine there with the given searchwords and you can use the "search item inworld" link to look inworld for a demo. And i have made my own shape so it is excactly to my wishes
majestic12
Hi Miyuki: I did a search on SL marketplace and got a few good ones under search word "elf" Nothing good appeared under "Arwen" Do the search, take note of the stores listed, and find them inworld. Hope this helps.
Lyra Blackthorne
Maybe try looking at some of the top shape shops to see what they have created with the various skins would be helpful. That way you see a finished product vs just the skins. Just make sure that if you see something you like it comes with complete style card so you can replicate what you see
Marianne Little
I was going to reply yesterday. but didn't have time. My suggestion is a bit different from the others. I would say that you should find the skin first, then modify the shape to fit the skin. Skins are no modify 99,99% out of 100%. Lips are drawn on very different. Eyelids, cheekbones... it is much easier to mold the shape when you have the skin. You can first get a skin demo that has what you look for. Then ask under "help wanted" for a custom made shape. The one creator you pick, will also wear the skin demo and start to work on it. You review the shape/skin combo during the process, and when you are satisfied, you recieve the finished shape. Make sure you get a shape that is copy/mod, so you can modify it yourself. You may need to do some small changes later. Then you buy your skin. You might change your mind during the shape creation process, or maybe the shape creator suggest another skin. Skin demos are good enough to work with when you make a shape. Nothing stops you from making your own shape! All you need is to adjust the sliders. I often find it best to have a shape with an acceptable face, where I can modifty the body as I wish. Remember that many skins has a rather heavy/dark breast shading, that will make you breasts appear large even if you set the sliders down. Look at the avatar straight forward and from the side, so you will see what I mean.

Kascha Matova
I think the designer of my own skin either left SL during the two years I wasn't on much or changed her name. But I can say that the girl behind Alady, who did my custom shape, is extremely competent and very flexible - delivering more than is actually asked for and will create from scratch or modify any of her already existing shapes to make them personalized for you. My look, while not exactly Lord of the Rings Elf, is pretty delicate in its own right with a wide mix of ancestry and in keeping with my own real complexion, is I guess, something approaching porcelain, although I also got darker versions and one that is mod for skin tone, plus included body oil. On the oft chance she can still be contacted under her original name, it's Christy Maroon. If I can find the info about her new name, I'll put it here as well later. Other than that, I would listen to Marianne. She is a perfect example of avie design done right and she won't steer you wrong. :womanwink:
