Check your trash folder.  You may have accidentally deleted them.

Hello. Try to clear your cache under your Preferences --> Advanced Tab --> Relog and see if that helps. When you relog, choose a quiet sim without lag like Smith for example. Open your inventory, type something in search there and wait fetching all your items till the last one. Good luck.

Also click the small gear at the bottom of the inventory panel. There is an item to show filters. Select it and make sure ALL is selected. Once you have 25,000 pairs of shoes and landmarks for all your favorite shoe stores, filters are a handy feature.

Often inventory is not lost... you just can't see it. So, the fix is getting your viewer to see it again. As pointed out clearing the cache and logging into a deserted region is a common fix. If that does not solve the problem, check out: Lost Inventory and Missing Inventory Fix – Help. It is getting a bit old and it is written for those that use multiple viewers. But, most of the steps and ideas still work and apply.
