Hello Elliott. If you have cancelled your account, you may be able to restore it, depending on how long ago it was cancelled. There is a US$9.95 reactivation fee for restoring an account.

To start the process:

  1. Open a support case.
  2. Under What type of problem are you having? choose Account Issue.
  3. Choose Reactivate an old account.
  4. Enter the required information
  5. Click Submit.

Warning: Even if your account is restored, the associated inventory, land, and Linden dollar balance may be unrecoverable.

All you can do is submit a support ticket under your current user name (since any ticket submitted under your old account name would likely not get any action for a couple reasons:  First, its no longer a valid user name.  And second, any response would go to the email on file for that older account.  Don't expect miracles.......it's likely you won't be able to reactivate the account (especially if it's been more than a couple months since you closed the account).

Some things just can't be undone.  Delete something on your computer and then 6 months later try to restore it....you're going to be very lucky if you can get it back.  Try restoring it a week after deleting and chances are not all that bad that you can get it back.

Editing to add:

Don't call billing.  This is not a billing problem, it's more in the technical realm but even that is stretching it.  You want favor from Linden Lab....keep that in mind when making your request.  When you went to delete the account you were given a chance to downgrade instead (or warned that deleting the account would not be a good idea if you ever wanted to reinstate your avatar).  You ignored the offer or dialog back then and since have changed your mind.....ask for help from LL but be polite about it.  Calling billing for a problem that you know is not a billing issue is not be very polite at all.
