Hi Ally!  First check here https://secondlife.com/my/support/system-requirements/index.php? to see if you have the mimumum requrements to run Second Life.

Hello Allydoodle. Do you get an error message when you try to log in? If so, we need to know it for a better answer (you can edit your post adding more details - options --> edit). As a first suggestion, try to log in a different region like Smith, Exeuxoa or Anzere and see if that makes any difference. If you use the official viewer and you can't choose a different region, in your log in screen give the command: Menu Me --> Preferences --> General Tab --> Enable "Show on login" --> OK.  After click the down arrow where it says "Start at" and choose <Type region name> --> Smith --> Login. Generally last days we have issues in world with region rolling restarts for Maintenace, so maybe your problem is relative. Next time you can't log in check out at first http://status.secondlifegrid.net/ Good luck.
